When to Use

  • When several tasks or worries feel urgent at once.
  • When you want to distinguish what needs attention today from what can wait.
  • When you want to consider a small step or a limit on someone else’s demand.

How to Use

  1. 1
Write tasks, demands or worries in the open space without sorting them first.
  2. 2
Place chosen items in now, soon, later or not mine; add dates if useful.
  3. 3
Choose the smallest first step for an item that needs attention now.
  4. 4
If useful and safe, note one thing to hand back or decline and words you might use.

When many demands feel urgent, writing them down can create space to sort them. This optional page is a planning aid, not an assessment, and not every demand belongs to you.

The four areas are now, soon, later and not mine. Use them to consider timing and responsibility, then choose a small first step or words for handing something back; you can skip any item.

Optional and private. This page does not diagnose anything. If overwhelm persists or you are struggling to cope, speak with a health professional. If you have thoughts of harming yourself, seek prompt crisis or professional support. In immediate danger or if you cannot stay safe, contact local emergency services.
