When to Use

  • When your energy or headspace is limited and you want one manageable next step
  • When a larger activity feels hard to begin and reducing friction could make it more approachable
  • When you want an action connected to care, comfort, or what matters rather than productivity
  • Before a 2-, 5-, or 10-minute action, or when deciding whether to make it smaller

How to Use

  1. 1
Identify capacity: Notice your available energy and headspace without judging yourself or trying to force more.
  2. 2
Choose one action: Select one realistic 2-, 5-, or 10-minute values- or care-aligned action.
  3. 3
Reduce one barrier: Name one thing that could get in the way and one change that would make the action easier.
  4. 4
Choose a gentle first step and when: Write the first physical movement and the time or cue that will invite you to begin.

The Low-Energy Activity Plan offers a calm, low-pressure way to decide what is possible when your energy or headspace is limited. It is not a productivity checklist, and it does not promise a change in mood.

Move through four small steps: identify the capacity you have available, choose one realistic 2-, 5-, or 10-minute values- or care-aligned action, reduce one barrier, and choose a gentle first step and when to begin.

The plan draws on behavioral activation strategies while leaving room for rest, pausing, resizing the action, or deciding that today is not the day. The aim is to make one considerate choice that fits the moment rather than to do more.
